Trained at Myerscough College, Preston for my pre-farriers course, came to Epsom and undertook an apprenticeship at Bubear Jones lasting over four years and qualifying with my Dip WCF.
During this I time I learnt how to understand the thoroughbred brain and that working with these horses requires not only an understanding of the technical aspects of farriery but also the specific anatomy and requirements of racing horses – to say nothing of being able to build a good relationship with a horse to make the job quicker, easier and more pleasant fore everyone involved!
Being able to understand thoroughbreds puts me in a great position to deal with most horse types and breeds.
I stayed in Epsom for another 3 years before setting up my own business in Sussex.
I now specialise in thoroughbreds, showjumpers, polo ponies, eventers and dressage horses but am happy to work with all types and breeds.
